太原师范学院是一所以师范教育为主，非师范教育和硕士研究生教育协调发展的全日制普通高等学校，1999年3月经国家教育部批准，由山西大学师范学院、太原师范专科学校和山西省教育学院合并组建而成。学校现有4个校区，总占地面积约1881.56亩，其中魏榆校区占地面积1308亩，建筑面积约60万平方米。现有全日制在校本科生22000余名，生源来自全国27个省、市、自治区。

Taiyuan Normal University is a full-time ordinary institution of higher education focusing on teacher education, with coordinated development of non-teacher education and postgraduate education. Approved by the Ministry of Education in March 1999, it was formed by the merger of the Normal College of Shanxi University, Taiyuan Teachers College, and Shanxi Provincial Institute of Education. The university currently has 4 campuses, covering a total area of approximately 1881.56 mu, among which the Weiyu Campus occupies 1308 mu with a building area of about 600,000 square meters. There are more than 22,000 full-time undergraduates, with students coming from 27 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country.

学校学科专业涵盖经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学等九大学科门类，设有教学院系19个，开设本科专业63个。拥有一级学科硕士学位授权点6个，硕士专业学位授权点11个，是山西省1331工程、山西省首批三全育人综合改革试点高校，坚持“德育为本、实践第一、创新教育”的行知育人理念，育人质量和办学水平逐年提升。

The university's disciplines cover nine categories including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, and art. It has 19 teaching departments and offers 63 undergraduate majors. It boasts 6 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points and 11 professional master's degree authorization points. As a university under the Shanxi Provincial "1331 Project" and one of the first pilot universities for the comprehensive reform of "three-full education" in Shanxi Province, it adheres to the educational philosophy of "morality education as the foundation, practice as the first, and innovative education", with its educational quality and school-running level improving year by year.
