The Federal University of Paraná (Universidade Federal do Paraná, UFPR for short) is an important public university in Brazil, founded in 1912 and located in Curitiba, the capital of Paraná State. As one of the oldest public universities in Brazil, its predecessor can be traced back to the Polytechnic Institute in 1869. It ranks among the top universities in Brazil, ranking 1001-1200 in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and 37th in Latin America.
