图卢兹第一大学（Université Toulouse 1 Capitole）又称图卢兹社会科学大学，是欧洲最古老的大学之一，也是法国著名公立大学。其历史可追溯至1229年，中世纪时因众多知名学者讲学而声名鹊起。1970年，古老的图卢兹大学按学术领域拆分，形成如今的图卢兹一大、二大与三大，其中一大在政治学、法学领域保持高学术水平，经济学与管理学在法国公立大学中排名第一，旗下图卢兹经济学院（TSE）更是欧洲经济学研究的翘楚，2003年被欧洲经济协会评为欧洲经济学研究中心首位，超越伦敦经济学院。

The University of Toulouse 1 Capitole, also known as the University of Toulouse Social Sciences, is one of the oldest universities in Europe and a renowned public university in France. Its history dates back to 1229, and it gained prominence during the Middle Ages due to lectures by numerous renowned scholars. In 1970, the ancient University of Toulouse was divided by academic fields into the present-day Toulouse 1, 2, and 3 universities. Among them, Toulouse 1 maintains high academic standards in political science and law, ranking first in economics and management among French public universities. Its Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) is a leader in European economic research, ranked first among European economic research centers by the European Economic Association in 2003, surpassing the London School of Economics.

The main campus is located in the heart of Toulouse, with some campuses renovated from old cigarette factories adjacent to the Brienne Canal. The university focuses on liberal arts, covering law, politics, economic management, science and technology, etc. It has 18 laboratories, 1 industrial economics institute, and 25 research centers, with a strong faculty including 450 researchers and nearly 800 doctoral supervisors. The university has close cooperation with over 500 enterprises and institutions, recommending more than 2,500 students for internships annually and actively conducting university-enterprise seminars. In 2012, there were over 20,000 students, with international students accounting for 20%. It has established inter-university exchange relationships with 200 universities worldwide and strengthens talent cultivation in space technology, telecommunications and other fields in response to regional aviation industry needs.
