Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) is one of the 20 public universities prioritized by Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education. Established in December 1992 and located in Sarawak on East Malaysia's Borneo island, it is the largest and top-ranked comprehensive university in eastern Malaysia. The university comprises 12 faculties and 11 research centers spanning fields like computer science, medicine, engineering, and social sciences, with over 16,000 students and more than 2,290 faculty members, including 466 international students. As a public institution, UNIMAS offers affordable tuition fees, with undergraduate programs costing approximately 50,000-80,000 RMB and postgraduate programs 30,000-60,000 RMB, along with scholarship opportunities. All courses are taught in English, supplemented by English enhancement programs for international students. Undergraduate and coursework-based master's programs have intake in March and October. UNIMAS maintains internationally aligned curricula, holds ISO9001:2000 certification, and has professional accreditations in fields like accounting and engineering, ensuring strong graduate employability.
