University of Hohenheim, located in Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, was founded in 1818 and is the oldest existing institution of higher education in the city. Originally a German national agricultural college, it has now developed into a comprehensive university focusing on agricultural sciences, natural sciences, economics, and social sciences, and is a member of the European Life Sciences Infrastructure for Europe (ELLS).

Known for its "small but elite" disciplinary layout, the university has long ranked first in Germany in agricultural sciences, placing 16th globally in the QS World University Rankings for Agriculture & Forestry in 2020. Its economics and management disciplines consistently rank among the top 10 in Germany, with environmental science, ecology, and food science also at the forefront of German academia. The campus, centered around the historic Hohenheim Castle, preserves numerous historical buildings and is regarded as one of "Germany's most beautiful campuses."
