乌鲁木齐职业大学成立于1985年，是改革开放后新疆成立的第一所高等职业院校，是新疆目前高职层次办学历史最长、现代服务业专业门类最齐全的乌鲁木齐市属综合性全日制高等职业院校，实行区市共建、以市为主的管理体制，业务受自治区教育厅指导。学校相继建成国家示范性骨干高职院校、自治区示范性高职院校、自治区优质校，是国家示范性职业教育集团（联盟）培育单位、自治区第三产业（现代服务业）职教园区理事长单位、新疆旅游教育联盟理事长和秘书长单位，是自治区首个大学生（高职）创新创业孵化基地，现已获得乌鲁木齐市、自治区、国家三级创客空间授牌和团中央、工信部、科技部孵化基地授牌，是人力资源和社会保障部认定的第五批全国创业孵化示范基地。

Urumqi Vocational University, founded in 1985, is the first higher vocational college established in Xinjiang after the reform and opening up. It is a comprehensive full-time higher vocational college under the jurisdiction of Urumqi, with the longest history of running schools at the higher vocational level and the most complete range of modern service industry majors in Xinjiang. It implements a management system of co-construction by the autonomous region and the city, with the city as the main body, and its business is guided by the Education Department of the autonomous region. The university has successively become a national demonstration backbone higher vocational college, an autonomous region demonstration higher vocational college, and an autonomous region high-quality university. It is a national demonstration vocational education group (alliance) cultivation unit, the chairman unit of the autonomous region's tertiary industry (modern service industry) vocational education park, the chairman and secretary-general unit of the Xinjiang Tourism Education Alliance, and the first college student (higher vocational) innovation and entrepreneurship incubation base in the autonomous region. It has now obtained the three-level maker space certification of Urumqi City, the autonomous region, and the country, as well as the incubation base certification of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is the fifth batch of national entrepreneurship incubation demonstration bases recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.

学校整体呈现两区一园三基地功能布局，校园总占地面积1485.77亩。拥有校内教学实训场所206个，顶岗实习基地413个，教学科研仪器设备总值1.3亿元，图书馆各类藏书（含电子图书）117.56万册。现设党政教辅后勤机构17个、教学机构17个。现有专任教师648人，高级职称教师211人，硕士及以上学位教师458人。开设专业51个，重点打造商贸物流、信息技术、旅游与会展、艺术设计、智能制造、数字媒体技术、社会事务管理等7个专业群，现已建成国家示范性高等职业院校重点建设专业5个（工艺品设计与制作、印刷技术、物流管理、会展策划与管理、旅游管理）、国家级专业示范点3个（会展策划与管理、老年服务与管理、旅游工艺品设计）、国家级现代学徒制专业1个（印刷媒体技术），自治区优质校骨干专业群、高职院校骨干专业群5个（商贸物流、信息技术、旅游与会展、艺术设计、电气自动化技术），现代服务业专业建设在全疆高职院校中处于领先水平。

The university has an overall functional layout of two districts, one park and three bases, with a total campus area of 1485.77 mu. It has 206 on-campus teaching and training sites, 413 internship bases, with a total value of 130 million yuan for teaching and research instruments and equipment, and 1.1756 million books (including e-books) in the library. It currently has 17 party and government teaching support and logistics institutions and 17 teaching institutions. There are 648 full-time teachers, 211 with senior professional titles, and 458 with master's degree or above. It offers 51 majors, focusing on 7 professional groups such as commerce and logistics, information technology, tourism and conference exhibition, art design, intelligent manufacturing, digital media technology, and social affairs management. It has built 5 key construction majors of national demonstration higher vocational colleges (craft design and production, printing technology, logistics management, conference and exhibition planning and management, tourism management), 3 national professional demonstration sites (conference and exhibition planning and management, elderly service and management, tourism craft design), 1 national modern apprenticeship major (print media technology), 5 autonomous region high-quality school backbone professional groups and higher vocational college backbone professional groups (commerce and logistics, information technology, tourism and conference exhibition, art design, electrical automation technology). The construction of modern service industry majors is in a leading position among higher vocational colleges in the whole region.
