苏州科技大学坐落于历史文化名城苏州，由原苏州城建环保学院与原苏州铁道师范学院合并而成，是一所以工为主、工理文管艺多学科协调发展的全日制普通高校，为住房和城乡建设部与江苏省共建高校、教育部本科教学工作水平评估优秀高校、江苏省博士学位授予立项建设单位。学校拥有石湖、江枫、天平三个校区，主校区石湖校区毗邻石湖水，坐拥上方山，环境优美，校园占地面积2300亩，现有全日制在校本科生近22000人，研究生3600余人（含国际硕士研究生）。

Suzhou University of Science and Technology is located in the historical and cultural city of Suzhou. It was formed by the merger of the former Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection and the former Suzhou Railway Teachers College. It is a full-time ordinary university with engineering as its main focus and coordinated development of multiple disciplines including engineering, science, liberal arts, management, and art. It is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Jiangsu Province, an excellent university in the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education, and a project-construction unit for doctoral degree authorization in Jiangsu Province. The university has three campuses: Shihu, Jiangfeng, and Tianping. The main Shihu Campus is adjacent to Shihu Lake and is surrounded by Shangfang Mountain, with a beautiful environment. The campus covers an area of 2300 mu, with nearly 22,000 full-time undergraduates and more than 3,600 postgraduates (including international master's students).

学校学科门类齐全，涵盖工学、理学、文学、管理学、艺术学等9大学科门类，现有16个硕士学位授权一级学科、16个硕士专业学位授权类别。工程学、化学、材料科学和环境生态学等4个学科进入ESI前1%，其中工程学进入ESI全球前5‰。学校坚持人才强校，拥有中国科学院院士1人、外国院士4人，国家级人才工程入选者55人次，省部级以上团队14个，具有高级专业技术职务教师810余人，博士学位教师1040余人。建校以来，已为国家培养了以两院院士周锡元、叶可明为代表的20余万名各类毕业生，被誉为“规划师的孵化基地、工程师的成长摇篮、基础教育骨干的培育中心”。

The university has a complete range of disciplines, covering 9 disciplines including engineering, science, literature, management, and art. It currently has 16 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees and 16 categories of professional master's degrees. Four disciplines including engineering, chemistry, materials science, and environmental ecology have entered the top 1% of ESI, among which engineering has entered the top 5‰ of ESI globally. The university adheres to the strategy of strengthening the university with talents, boasting 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 4 foreign academicians, 55 recipients of national talent projects, 14 provincial and ministerial-level teams, more than 810 teachers with senior professional titles, and more than 1040 teachers with doctoral degrees. Since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 200,000 graduates of various types represented by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering Zhou Xiyuan and Ye Keming, and is known as "the incubator of planners, the cradle of engineers, and the training center for backbone teachers in basic education".
