民办万博科技职业学院始建于2000年6月，是经安徽省人民政府批准、国家教育部核准的面向全国招生的全日制普通高校，办学层次为专科（高职），办学类型为民办普通高等职业学校。学校拥有本部校区和新桥校区两大校区，总占地面积近800亩，总建筑面积超58万平方米，其中新桥校区位于淮南市寿县新桥国际产业园，建成后可容纳在校生超2万人，为学校升格为本科层次普通高校奠定坚实基础。

Wanbo Institute of Science and Technology was founded in June 2000. It is a full-time ordinary college approved by the People's Government of Anhui Province and approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, enrolling students nationwide. It offers higher vocational (junior college) education and is a private ordinary higher vocational school. The university has two campuses: the headquarters campus and the Xinqiao campus, covering a total area of nearly 800 mu with a total construction area of over 580,000 square meters. The Xinqiao campus is located in the Xinqiao International Industrial Park, Shouxian County, Huainan City. After completion, it can accommodate more than 20,000 students, laying a solid foundation for the university to be upgraded to an undergraduate-level ordinary college.

学校下设智能信息学院、交通工程学院、国际商务学院、艺术传媒学院、音乐教育学院等教学单位，构建了以电子信息、财经商贸、交通运输、土木建筑、文化艺术等大类为主导，涵盖40个国家计划统招专业的学科体系，其中汽车营销与服务等专业为王牌骨干专业。学校坚持国际化办学理念，2008年引入新加坡莱佛士教育集团资源，汇聚了以中国科技大学、合肥工业大学等高校教授为主体的师资队伍，2005年作为安徽省首家民办院校通过高职高专人才培养工作水平评估并获“优良”成绩。

The university has established teaching units such as the School of Intelligent Information, School of Transportation Engineering, School of International Business, School of Art and Media, and School of Music Education. It has built a disciplinary system led by categories such as electronic information, finance and commerce, transportation, civil engineering and architecture, and culture and art, covering 40 nationally planned enrollment majors, among which majors like Automobile Marketing and Service are the ace backbone majors. Adhering to the concept of internationalized education, the university introduced resources from Singapore Raffles Education Group in 2008 and gathered a faculty mainly composed of professors from universities such as the University of Science and Technology of China and Hefei University of Technology. In 2005, as the first private college in Anhui Province, it passed the talent training level evaluation for higher vocational colleges and obtained an "excellent" result.
