武汉商学院溯源于1963年创办的武汉市服务学校，2013年经教育部批准升格为本科院校，由湖北省人民政府主管、武汉市人民政府主办，是湖北省第一批转型发展试点院校。学校秉承“商道惟诚，知行致远”的校训，践行“明德笃学，求实致用”的办学理念，以建设高水平应用型大学为主线，面向现代服务业培养高素质应用型人才。

Wuhan Business University traces its roots to Wuhan Service School founded in 1963. Upgraded to an undergraduate institution with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2013, it is administered by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and sponsored by the Wuhan Municipal People's Government. As one of Hubei's first pilot universities for transformation and development, the university adheres to the motto "Integrity in Business, Perseverance in Action" and the educational philosophy of "Virtue, Learning, Truth, and Application", focusing on building a high-level application-oriented university to cultivate high-quality applied talents for modern service industries.

学校现有后官湖、墨水湖两个校区及在建的马影河新校区，总占地1316亩，馆藏纸质图书169.5万册，教学科研仪器设备总值2.1亿元。设有13个教学学院，40个本科专业覆盖管理学、经济学、工学等八大学科门类，拥有国家一流本科专业建设点3个（酒店管理、休闲体育、烹饪与营养教育）、省级一流本科专业建设点7个，全日制在校生14050人。

The university has two campuses (Houguanhu and Moshuihu) and a new campus under construction (Mayinghe), covering a total area of 1,316 mu. It boasts 1.695 million paper books, teaching and research equipment worth 210 million yuan, 13 teaching colleges, and 40 undergraduate programs spanning eight disciplines including management, economics, and engineering. The university has 3 national first-class undergraduate program construction sites (Hotel Management, Leisure Sports, Culinary and Nutrition Education), 7 provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites, and 14,050 full-time students.

师资队伍中，专任教师704人，高级职称占比38.64%，博士学位占比24.43%，拥有国务院政府特殊津贴专家、中国注册烹饪大师等各类高层次人才。近三年学生获省级以上学科竞赛奖项约2900项，2023届毕业生初次就业去向落实率87.10%，留鄂就业率68.98%，为区域经济社会发展提供了有力人才支撑。

The faculty consists of 704 full-time teachers, with 38.64% holding senior titles and 24.43% holding doctoral degrees. It includes experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council and Chinese registered culinary masters. In the past three years, students have won approximately 2,900 provincial and above academic competition awards. The initial employment rate of the 2023 graduates was 87.10%, with 68.98% employed in Hubei, providing strong talent support for regional economic and social development.
