武汉生物工程学院是经教育部批准设立的普通本科高校，是湖北省首批“转型发展试点高校”、全国首批“创新创业典型经验高校”。学校位于武汉市现代港口工业新城阳逻经济开发区内，校园占地面积1700余亩，建筑面积80余万平方米，在校师生2万余人。

Wuhan University of Bioengineering is an ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first batch of "pilot universities for transformation and development" in Hubei Province and the first batch of "model universities with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship" in China. Located in Yangluo Economic Development Zone, a modern port industrial new town in Wuhan, the university covers an area of more than 1,700 mu, with a building area of over 800,000 square meters and more than 20,000 teachers and students.

学校以生命科学为特色，涵盖理、工、农、文、管、教、艺等7大学科门类，开设了生物工程、制药工程、环境工程、临床医学、护理学等50余个本专科专业。拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点4个，省级一流本科专业建设点11个，省级重点学科4个，形成了以生物与医药、绿色环保、健康护理等为优势的特色专业集群。

With life sciences as its characteristic, the university covers 7 disciplines including science, engineering, agriculture, liberal arts, management, education and art, offering more than 50 undergraduate and junior college majors such as bioengineering, pharmaceutical engineering, environmental engineering, clinical medicine and nursing. It has 4 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 11 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 4 provincial key disciplines, forming a characteristic professional cluster with advantages in biology and medicine, green environmental protection, health care and so on.
