无锡职业技术大学是一所国有公办的省属全日制本科层次职业院校，由江苏省人民政府举办，行政主管部门为江苏省教育厅。学校前身是1959年原国家农机部创办的无锡农业机械制造学校，1979年更名为江苏省无锡机械制造学校，1999年独立升格为无锡职业技术学院。2025年6月，教育部批准以无锡职业技术学院为基础整合资源设置无锡职业技术大学。

Wuxi Vocational and Technical University is a state-owned public full-time undergraduate vocational college sponsored by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, with its administrative department being the Department of Education of Jiangsu Province. The predecessor of the university was Wuxi Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing School founded by the former State Ministry of Agricultural Machinery in 1959. It was renamed Jiangsu Wuxi Machinery Manufacturing School in 1979 and independently upgraded to Wuxi Institute of Technology in 1999. In June 2025, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of Wuxi Vocational and Technical University by integrating resources based on Wuxi Institute of Technology.

学校2006年入选首批国家示范性高等职业院校，2012年经省教育厅批准与江苏大学联合开展本科层次技术技能人才培养试点，2018年入选江苏省卓越高职院校建设单位，2019年入选国家"双高计划"高水平学校建设单位（A档），并于2024年以优秀等次通过教育部、财政部绩效评价，2025年入选中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划（2025-2029年）双高建设学校。2019-2024年度学校连续在江苏省省属高校（高职Ⅰ类）高质量发展综合考核中获第一等次，2024年、2025年在中国高职高专院校综合竞争力排行榜位列全国第一。

In 2006, the university was selected as one of the first batch of National Model Higher Vocational Colleges. In 2012, approved by the Provincial Department of Education, it jointly carried out the pilot training of undergraduate-level technical and skilled talents with Jiangsu University. In 2018, it was selected as a construction unit of Jiangsu Provincial Excellent Higher Vocational Colleges. In 2019, it was selected as a high-level school construction unit (Grade A) of the National "Double High Plan", and passed the performance evaluation of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance with excellent grades in 2024. In 2025, it was selected as a double-high construction school in the Plan for Building High-level Vocational Schools and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics (2025-2029). From 2019 to 2024, the university continuously won the first grade in the comprehensive assessment of high-quality development of provincial colleges and universities (Higher Vocational Category I) in Jiangsu Province. In 2024 and 2025, it ranked first in the national comprehensive competitiveness ranking of higher vocational colleges.

学校办学条件优越，坐落在风景秀美、人杰地灵的太湖之滨——江苏省无锡市，现有太湖和宜兴两个校区，占地1200余亩，建筑面积41万余平方米；资产总额18亿元，其中主要教学科研仪器设备总值达2.7亿元，图书馆藏书158万余册，并有完善的信息技术网络服务体系，是全国首批数字校园建设样板校、江苏省首批智慧校园示范校。

The university has superior running conditions and is located in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, a beautiful and talented place by the Taihu Lake. It currently has two campuses, Taihu and Yixing, covering an area of more than 1,200 mu and a building area of more than 410,000 square meters. The total assets are 1.8 billion yuan, of which the total value of main teaching and research instruments and equipment is 270 million yuan. The library has a collection of more than 1.58 million books and a complete information technology network service system. It is one of the first batch of national digital campus construction model schools and the first batch of smart campus demonstration schools in Jiangsu Province.

在校内建成了多功能、开放式、共享型实践教学基地，建有国家发展改革委"十三五"产教融合发展工程规划项目和"十四五"教育强国工程项目各1个，在校外建立了200多个实习基地，其中有稳定合作的校外实习基地64个。现有全日制本专科生和留学生11000多名，设有15个教学单位，与施耐德、西门子等企业共建产业学院8个。对接江苏"1650"产业体系和无锡"465"现代产业集群，建设与装备制造业和新兴产业相适应的9个专业群、47个专业，其中国家级专业群2个、省级专业群4个、市级专业群3个，国家级重点专业13个，省级重点专业17个，市级重点专业12个。

A multi-functional, open and shared practical teaching base has been built on campus, including one "13th Five-Year" Industry-Education Integration Development Project and one "14th Five-Year" Education Power Project approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. More than 200 off-campus internship bases have been established, including 64 stable cooperative off-campus internship bases. There are more than 11,000 full-time undergraduate and junior college students and international students. The university has 15 teaching units and has jointly built 8 industrial colleges with enterprises such as Schneider and Siemens. In line with Jiangsu's "1650" industrial system and Wuxi's "465" modern industrial cluster, it has built 9 professional groups and 47 majors suitable for equipment manufacturing and emerging industries, including 2 national-level professional groups, 4 provincial-level professional groups, 3 municipal-level professional groups, 13 national key majors, 17 provincial key majors, and 12 municipal key majors.

学校致力于打造高水平"双师四能型"教师队伍，现有专任教师752人，生师比为15.91:1，具有博士学历（学位）的教师180多人，江苏省科技副总55人；具有硕士及以上学位专任教师占93.42%，具有高级专业技术职务专任教师占42.69%，其中具有正高级专业技术职务专任教师77人；专任专业课教师中"双师型"教师占77.20%；建有数控技术、机械制造及自动化、物联网应用技术等6个国家级教学团队。毕业生就业率保持在96%以上，作为全国高职院校唯一代表，学校在2025届全国普通高校毕业生就业创业工作会议上作交流发言，得到教育部部长怀进鹏的高度评价。

The university is committed to building a high-level "double-qualified and four-capable" teaching team. Currently, there are 752 full-time teachers, with a student-teacher ratio of 15.91:1. There are more than 180 teachers with doctoral degrees, 55 science and technology vice presidents of Jiangsu Province; 93.42% of full-time teachers have master's degrees or above, 42.69% have senior professional and technical positions, including 77 with professor-level senior professional and technical positions; 77.20% of full-time professional course teachers are "double-qualified" teachers; and 6 national-level teaching teams in numerical control technology, mechanical manufacturing and automation, Internet of Things application technology, etc. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 96%. As the only representative of national higher vocational colleges, the university made an exchange speech at the 2025 National Conference on Employment and Entrepreneurship of College Graduates, which was highly praised by Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng.
