西安航空学院（Xi'an Aeronautical University）简称西航，是一所以工科为主、多学科协调发展的全日制普通高等学校。学校创建于1955年，原名为西安航空工业学校，隶属原航空工业部；1957年合并兰州航空工业学校；1960年升格为专科学校，更名为西安航空工业专科学校，后因国民经济调整而复原；1985年经原国家教委批准升格为西安航空工业技术专科学校；1993年更名为西安航空技术高等专科学校；1999年划转地方，隶属陕西省人民政府，为中央与地方共建院校；2012年经教育部批准升格为普通本科院校，更名为西安航空学院。

Xi'an Aeronautical University, referred to as Xihang, is a full-time ordinary higher education institution focusing on engineering with coordinated development of multiple disciplines. Founded in 1955, the school was originally named Xi'an Aeronautical Industry School, affiliated to the former Ministry of Aeronautical Industry. In 1957, it merged with Lanzhou Aeronautical Industry School. In 1960, it was upgraded to a junior college and renamed Xi'an Aeronautical Industry Junior College, which was later restored due to national economic adjustment. In 1985, it was approved by the former State Education Commission to be upgraded to Xi'an Aeronautical Industry Technical College. In 1993, it was renamed Xi'an Aeronautical Technical College. In 1999, it was transferred to local administration, affiliated to the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, and became a college jointly built by the central and local governments. In 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate institution and renamed Xi'an Aeronautical University.

学校位于历史文化名城西安，遵循学科、专业一体化，教学、科研、技术服务一体化的发展思路，对接国家航空和民航业快速发展的需求，以人才培养为中心，以高水平教学科研团队建设为着力点。现设有飞行器学院、机械工程学院、电子工程学院等14个教学院（部），开设飞行器制造工程、飞行器动力工程等72个本、专科专业，覆盖航空航天、机械、材料等12个专业大类，全日制在校生一万五千余人。学校与航空工业西飞公司、中航发西航等企业签署校企合作协议，建立30余个校外实习基地，开展“3+1”联合人才培养，在软科、武书连等2025年大学排行榜中位居全国400-700名区间，是陕西省内具有较高办学水平的航空类本科院校。

Located in the famous historical and cultural city of Xi'an, the university follows the development idea of integrating disciplines and majors, and integrating teaching, scientific research and technical services. It meets the needs of the rapid development of the national aviation and civil aviation industry, takes talent training as the center, and focuses on the construction of high-level teaching and research teams. Currently, it has 14 teaching colleges (departments) including the School of Aircraft, School of Mechanical Engineering, and School of Electronic Engineering, offering 72 undergraduate and junior college majors such as Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering and Aircraft Power Engineering, covering 12 professional categories including aerospace, machinery, and materials, with more than 15,000 full-time students. The university has signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with enterprises such as Aviation Industry Xifei Company and AVIC Xi'an Aero-engine (Xihang), established more than 30 off-campus internship bases, and carried out "3+1" joint talent training. It ranks between 400-700 in the 2025 university rankings such as Soft Science and Wushulian, and is an aviation undergraduate institution with relatively high educational level in Shaanxi Province.
