西安工业大学是陕西省重点建设的高水平大学，是陕西省国内一流学科建设高校，教育部卓越工程师教育培养试点高校，国家“兵工七子”成员之一，也是我国兵器行业部署在西北地区唯一一所本硕博培养层次完整的院校。学校由陕西省人民政府与国家国防科技工业局、中国兵器工业集团有限公司、中国兵器装备集团有限公司共建，是B8协同创新联盟（中国兵器协同创新联盟）发起者之一。

Xi'an Technological University is a key high-level university in Shaanxi Province, a university for the construction of domestic first-class disciplines in Shaanxi, a pilot university for the education and training of outstanding engineers of the Ministry of Education, a member of the national "Seven Sons of Ordnance Industry", and the only university in northwest China with a complete training system for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in the ordnance industry. It is co-constructed by the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China North Industries Group Corporation Limited, and China South Industries Group Corporation Limited, and one of the initiators of the B8 Collaborative Innovation Alliance (China Ordnance Collaborative Innovation Alliance).

学校创建于1955年，前身为西安第二工业学校，是国家“一五”计划156个重点建设项目的军工配套项目。现有金花、未央两个校区，校舍建筑面积90余万平方米，全日制在校生22000余人。学科涵盖工学、理学、管理学等8个门类，材料科学、工程学、化学3个学科进入ESI全球排名前1%，拥有4个博士学位授权一级学科、3个博士后科研流动站，55个本科专业中20个入选国家级一流专业，15个通过工程教育专业认证。

Founded in 1955, the university, formerly known as Xi'an Second Industrial School, was a military supporting project of 156 key construction projects in the national "First Five-Year Plan". It currently has two campuses, Jinhua and Weiyang, with a school building area of over 900,000 square meters and more than 22,000 full-time students. Its disciplines cover 8 categories including engineering, science, and management. Three disciplines, namely Materials Science, Engineering, and Chemistry, have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings. It has 4 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 3 post-doctoral research mobile stations, and among the 55 undergraduate majors, 20 have been selected as national first-class majors, and 15 have passed engineering education professional certification.

学校始终坚持“敦德励学、知行相长”的校训，以军工特色为引领，在国防科技领域成果显著，承担国家级科研项目千余项，拥有精密与超精密加工及测量国家地方联合工程研究中心等4个国家级科研平台，为我国兵器工业和区域经济社会发展培养了大批优秀人才。

Adhering to the school motto of "Upholding Virtue and Encouraging Learning, Integrating Knowledge and Practice", the university takes military characteristics as the lead and has achieved remarkable results in the field of national defense science and technology. It has undertaken more than 1,000 national-level scientific research projects and owns 4 national-level scientific research platforms such as the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Precision and Ultra-precision Machining and Measurement, cultivating a large number of outstanding talents for China's ordnance industry and regional economic and social development.
