西安外国语大学是新中国最早建立的4所外语院校之一，始建于1952年，前身为西北俄文专科学校，1958年更名为西安外国语学院，2006年更名为西安外国语大学。学校是西北地区唯一一所主要外语语种齐全的普通高校，是国家西部重要的外语人才培养基地、外语教育研究中心和国际文化交流中心。

Xi'an International Studies University (XISU) is one of the earliest four foreign language institutions founded in New China. Established in 1952 as the Northwest Russian College, it was renamed Xi'an Foreign Languages Institute in 1958 and Xi'an International Studies University in 2006. As the only university in Northwest China offering a comprehensive range of foreign language programs, XISU serves as a key base for foreign language talent cultivation, foreign language education research, and international cultural exchange in western China.

学校以外语教育为特色，涵盖文学、经济学、管理学、法学、教育学、理学、艺术学等7个学科门类，拥有1个博士后科研流动站、1个博士学位授权一级学科、19个硕士学位授权一级学科和16个硕士专业学位授权点。英语、俄语、德语、法语、西班牙语等专业优势突出，其中英语语言文学为国家级重点学科，西班牙语专业入选国家级一流本科专业建设点。

With foreign language education as its core strength, XISU offers programs across 7 disciplines: literature, economics, management, law, education, science, and arts. It houses 1 post-doctoral research station, 1 first-level doctoral program, 19 first-level master's programs, and 16 professional master's programs. The university excels in English, Russian, German, French, and Spanish, with English Language and Literature as a national key discipline and Spanish as a national first-class undergraduate program.

学校现有教职工1500余人，其中教授、副教授600余人，拥有国家级教学名师、享受国务院特殊津贴专家等国家级人才20余人。学校与全球40多个国家和地区的200余所高校建立合作关系，开设中外合作办学项目、海外实习基地和国际学生交流项目，形成“外语+专业”“专业+外语”的复合型人才培养模式。

XISU has over 1,500 faculty members, including more than 600 professors and associate professors, with over 20 national-level talents such as National Teaching Masters and experts receiving special government allowances. The university has established partnerships with over 200 institutions in more than 40 countries and regions, offering Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, overseas internships, and student exchange initiatives. It emphasizes an interdisciplinary talent development model integrating "foreign language + professional expertise" and "professional expertise + foreign language."

学校位于历史文化名城西安，拥有长安、雁塔两个校区，总占地面积1593亩，图书馆藏书200余万册。学校先后荣获“陕西省文明校园”“陕西省平安校园”等称号，毕业生就业率连续多年位居陕西省高校前列，为国家外交、外贸、教育等领域输送了大批高素质人才。

Located in Xi'an, a famous historical and cultural city, XISU has two campuses (Chang'an and Yanta) covering 1,593 mu, with a library holding over 2 million books.
