新疆师范大学是新疆维吾尔自治区重点建设的师范院校，1978年12月经教育部批准设立，其前身是乌鲁木齐第一师范学校和新疆教师培训部。作为党的十一届三中全会之后国家第一批新设立的高校之一，学校四十多年来始终与改革开放同成长、共命运，秉承“博学笃行，为人师表”的校训，坚持社会主义办学方向，落实立德树人根本任务，为新疆经济社会发展特别是教师教育事业作出了重要贡献。

Xinjiang Normal University is a key construction normal university in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Approved by the Ministry of Education in December 1978, its predecessor was Urumqi No.1 Normal School and Xinjiang Teacher Training Department. As one of the first batch of universities newly established by the state after the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the university has grown and shared the destiny with reform and opening up for more than 40 years. Adhering to the school motto of "Erudition and Practice, Being a Model for Others", it adheres to the socialist orientation in running schools, implements the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and has made important contributions to the economic and social development of Xinjiang, especially the development of teacher education.

学校教学区占地面积2435亩，拥有温泉、昆仑、文光三个校区，分别坐落于乌鲁木齐市水磨沟区、沙依巴克区和新市区。温泉校区为主校区和行政中心，承担文科类及部分理科类专业的本科、研究生教育及预科培养任务；昆仑校区主要负责理科、艺术类专业教学及继续教育、留学生教育等；文光校区则承担专科培养任务。学校现有20个学院，67个本科专业，学科覆盖11个学科门类，拥有6个一级学科博士学位授权点、17个一级学科硕士学位授权点及14个专业硕士学位授权点，2023年获批化学、民族学2个一级学科博士后流动站。

The university's teaching area covers 2435 mu, with three campuses: Wenquan, Kunlun and Wenguang, located in Shuimogou District, Shayibak District and Xinshi District of Urumqi respectively. The Wenquan Campus is the main campus and administrative center, undertaking undergraduate, postgraduate education and预科 training for liberal arts and some science majors; the Kunlun Campus is mainly responsible for science, art professional teaching, continuing education, international student education, etc.; the Wenguang Campus undertakes junior college training. The university currently has 20 colleges, 67 undergraduate majors covering 11 disciplines, with 6 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 17 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points and 14 professional master's degree authorization points. In 2023, it was approved for 2 first-level discipline post-doctoral mobile stations in chemistry and ethnology.

学校现有教职工1810人，其中专任教师1125人，高级职称比例达44%，拥有享受国务院特殊津贴专家、国家级重大人才项目入选者等各类高层次人才。在校大学生28060人，包括普通本专科生、研究生、留学生及预科生等。学校注重内涵建设，现有国家级一流专业15个、一流课程4门，自治区级一流专业8个、一流课程26门，近年来获自治区级教学成果奖29项。科研平台方面，拥有国家级国际联合研究中心、全国重点马克思主义学院等30余个国家级、省部级研究平台，《新疆师范大学学报》（哲学社会科学版）连续三年位列全国高校综合性人文社会科学学报第一名。

The university has 1810 faculty members, including 1125 full-time teachers, with senior professional titles accounting for 44%. It has various high-level talents such as experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council and selected candidates for national major talent projects. There are 28060 college students, including ordinary undergraduates, postgraduates, international students and preparatory students. The university focuses on connotation construction, with 15 national first-class majors, 4 first-class courses, 8 autonomous region-level first-class majors and 26 first-class courses. In recent years, it has won 29 autonomous region-level teaching achievement awards. In terms of scientific research platforms, it has more than 30 national and provincial-level research platforms such as the National International Joint Research Center and the National Key Marxist College. "Journal of Xinjiang Normal University" (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition) has ranked first among comprehensive humanities and social sciences journals of national universities for three consecutive years.

学校积极开展对外交流合作，与中国科学技术大学、华东师范大学等“双一流”高校实现联合培养，与俄罗斯、日本等国家及港澳台地区20多所高校建立长期合作关系，致力于建设内涵充实、特色鲜明的高水平师范大学。

The university actively carries out external exchanges and cooperation, realizes joint training with "Double First-Class" universities such as the University of Science and Technology of China and East China Normal University, and has established long-term cooperative relations with more than 20 universities in Russia, Japan and other countries as well as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions, committed to building a high-level normal university with substantial connotation and distinctive characteristics.
