西安邮电大学是一所以工为主，以信息科学技术为特色，工、管、理、经、文、法、艺多学科协调发展的普通高等学校，是我国特别是西北地区信息产业人才培养、科学研究和社会服务的重要基地。学校始创于1950年，历经西安邮电学校、西安邮政学校、西安邮电学院等发展阶段，2012年更名为西安邮电大学。

Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications is an ordinary institution of higher education focusing on engineering, featuring information science and technology, and developing coordinately in multiple disciplines including engineering, management, science, economics, literature, law and art. It is an important base for talent cultivation, scientific research and social services in the information industry in China, especially in Northwest China. Founded in 1950, the university has gone through development stages such as Xi'an Posts and Telecommunications School, Xi'an Postal School, Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications, and was renamed Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2012.

学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，弘扬“爱国、求是、奋进”的西邮精神，践行“厚德、博学、敬业、创新”的校训，形成了鲜明的办学特色。现有长安、雁塔两个校区，总占地面积1500余亩，校舍建筑面积80余万平方米。学校设有19个学院，开设58个本科专业，拥有一级学科博士学位授权点3个，一级学科硕士学位授权点19个，硕士专业学位授权类别12个。

The university always adheres to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, carries forward the spirit of "Patriotism, Seeking Truth, Striving Forward" of Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications, and practices the school motto of "Houde, Boxue, Jingye, Chuangxin", forming distinct school-running characteristics. It currently has two campuses, Chang'an and Yanta, covering a total area of more than 1,500 mu, with a school building area of more than 800,000 square meters. The university has 19 colleges, offering 58 undergraduate majors, 3 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 19 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 12 master's professional degree authorization categories.
