新乡学院是一所具有红色革命基因和改革开放基因的公办全日制普通本科院校，始建于1949年，2007年由原新乡师范高等专科学校、平原大学、新乡市教育学院合并升格为本科院校。学校秉持“开放、包容、求实、创新”的校训，坚持“以人为本，厚德强能，开放创新，和谐发展”的办学理念，实施“质量立校、人才强校、科技兴校、特色名校、文化厚校、开放活校”六大战略，致力于培养高素质应用型人才。

Xinxiang University is a public full-time ordinary undergraduate university with red revolutionary genes and reform and opening-up genes. Founded in 1949, it was upgraded to an undergraduate university in 2007 through the merger of the former Xinxiang Normal College, Pingyuan University, and Xinxiang Institute of Education. Adhering to the school motto of "Openness, Inclusiveness, Practicality, and Innovation" and the educational philosophy of "People-Oriented, Virtue and Ability Enhancement, Openness and Innovation, Harmonious Development", the university implements six strategies of "Quality School Establishment, Talent Strengthening School, Science and Technology Prosperity School, Characteristic Famous School, Cultural Enrichment School, and Open Vitality School" to cultivate high-quality applied talents.

学校位于河南省新乡市，校园占地面积2200亩，校舍面积近77万平方米，环境优美，是读书治学的理想园地。教学科研仪器设备总值约5.2亿元，图书馆馆藏纸质图书207万册、电子图书60余万册。设有24个二级学院、69个本科专业，涵盖工学、理学、管理学等9大学科门类，拥有2个国家级一流本科专业建设点、13个省级一流本科专业建设点，全日制本专科在校生2.6万余人。

Located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, the university covers an area of 2200 mu with a school building area of nearly 770,000 square meters. It has a beautiful environment and is an ideal place for studying and academic research. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is about 520 million yuan, and the library has a collection of 2.07 million paper books and more than 600,000 e-books. It has 24 secondary colleges and 69 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines such as engineering, science, and management. It has 2 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 13 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, with more than 26,000 full-time undergraduate and junior college students.

学校注重应用型人才培养，深化产教融合、校企合作，构建了“思想品德好，专业知识精，实践能力强，综合素质高”的人才培养模式。学生在各类创新创业和学科竞赛中获省级及以上奖励1645项，毕业生就业率保持在96%以上，先后荣获“河南省大学生创业教育示范学校”“河南省示范性应用技术类型本科高校”等称号。
