咸阳师范学院是一所以教师教育为特色的省属本科院校，肇始于1978年5月的陕西师范大学咸阳专修科。1978年12月，经教育部批准成立咸阳师范专科学校；2001年5月与咸阳教育学院合并组建咸阳师范学院，2004年10月陕西广播电视大学咸阳市分校并入，2016年7月陕西省机电工程学校划归学校。

Xianyang Normal University is a provincial undergraduate college featuring teacher education, originating from the Xianyang Specialized Course of Shaanxi Normal University established in May 1978. In December 1978, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to become Xianyang Teachers College; in May 2001, it merged with Xianyang College of Education to form Xianyang Normal University, incorporated the Xianyang Branch of Shaanxi Radio and Television University in October 2004, and was joined by Shaanxi Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School in July 2016.

学校位于大秦故都、国家级历史文化名城——咸阳，现有渭城、秦都两个校区，校园占地800余亩，实习实训基地2650亩，校舍建筑面积50余万平方米。设有17个二级学院、33个研究机构，拥有教育、文物2个硕士点，50个本科专业（师范类22个、非师范类28个），涵盖文、理、史、法、教、管、工、经、艺等9大学科门类，面向全国28个省（市、自治区）招生，全日制在校生、留学生18700余人。

Located in Xianyang, the ancient capital of the Qin Dynasty and a national historical and cultural city, the university has two campuses (Weicheng and Qindu) covering over 800 mu, with 2,650 mu of practice and training bases and a building area of more than 500,000 square meters. It comprises 17 secondary colleges and 33 research institutions, offering 2 master's programs (Education and Cultural Relics) and 50 undergraduate majors (22 teacher education and 28 non-teacher education), covering 9 disciplines including arts, science, history, law, education, management, engineering, economics, and art. It enrolls students from 28 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) with over 18,700 full-time students and international students.

学校现有教职工1200余人，专任教师中副高级以上职称人员400余人，享受国务院特殊津贴3人，陕西省“三秦人才”等省级人才50余人。近年来承担国家级科研项目49项、省部级436项，获省部级科研奖励22项，教职工发表论文5400余篇，其中核心期刊900余篇、SCI/EI收录300余篇。中国史（历史地理学）为省级优势学科，拥有关中古代陵寝文化研究中心等3个省级科研平台，图书馆纸质藏书217.1万册，《咸阳师范学院学报》的“秦汉文史研究”栏目连续获全国高校社科学报优秀栏目奖。

The university has over 1,200 faculty members, including more than 400 full-time teachers with associate senior titles or above, 3 recipients of special government allowances from the State Council, and over 50 provincial-level talents such as "Sanqin Talents" of Shaanxi Province. In recent years, it has undertaken 49 national-level and 436 provincial-level scientific research projects, won 22 provincial-level scientific research awards, and its faculty have published over 5,400 papers, including more than 900 in core journals and over 300 indexed by SCI/EI. Chinese History (Historical Geography) is a provincial advantageous discipline, with 3 provincial-level research platforms such as the Research Center for Ancient Mausoleum Culture in Guanzhong. The library has 2.171 million paper books, and the "Qin and Han Dynasty History and Literature Research" column of the "Journal of Xianyang Normal University" has continuously won the Excellent Column Award of National University Social Science Journals.
