云南交通职业技术学院创建于1952年，2009年成为云南省首所国家示范性高等职业院校，2019年获评国家优质专科高等职业院校，2021年入选云南省首批“双高计划”建设单位，2025年获批第二期国家“双高计划”专业群建设单位及第二批云南省“双高计划”建设单位。学校现有呈贡、普吉、吴井桥、龙城四个校区，呈贡校区为主校区，位于昆明市呈贡大学城。

Yunnan Jiaotong College was founded in 1952. In 2009, it became the first national model higher vocational college in Yunnan Province. In 2019, it was awarded as a national high-quality junior college. In 2021, it was selected as the first batch of "Double High Plan" construction units in Yunnan Province. In 2025, it was approved as the second phase of the national "Double High Plan" professional group construction unit and the second batch of Yunnan Province "Double High Plan" construction units. The college has four campuses: Chenggong, Puji, Wujingqiao and Longcheng, with Chenggong Campus as the main campus located in Chenggong University Town, Kunming.

学校现有教职工1088人，全日制在校生12000余人，直接服务交通运输行业的专业数和学生数均超过60%。设有12个二级学院，44个专业，涵盖土木建筑、交通运输、先进制造等12大类，形成以公路、汽车、轨道运输、航空运输为特色的大交通专业布局。毕业生就业率连续多年保持在90%以上，被誉为“云南交通人才的摇篮”。

The college has 1,088 faculty members and more than 12,000 full-time students, with over 60% of its majors and students directly serving the transportation industry. It has 12 secondary colleges and 44 majors covering 12 categories such as civil engineering, transportation, and advanced manufacturing, forming a comprehensive transportation professional layout featuring highways, automobiles, rail transportation, and air transportation. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 90% for many years, and it is known as "the cradle of Yunnan transportation talents".

学校积极开展国际合作，在泰国设立两所分校，入选教育部“国际合作交流百千万计划”，3次获全国高等职业院校服务贡献50强、2次获国际影响力50强，形成了学历教育、继续教育、技术培训、职业技能认定、技术研发紧密结合的办学格局。

The college actively carries out international cooperation, establishing two branch schools in Thailand and being selected into the Ministry of Education's "Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand International Cooperation and Exchange Plan". It has been ranked among the top 50 national higher vocational colleges in service contribution for 3 times and top 50 in international influence for 2 times, forming a school-running pattern integrating academic education, continuing education, technical training, vocational skill certification and technological research and development.
