云南警官学院为云南省人民政府举办的全日制普通高等学校，始建于1950年4月，历经中国人民解放军昆明市军管会公安部公安学校、云南省人民政府公安厅公安学校、云南省政法干部学校、云南政治学院、云南省公安学校、云南省人民警察学校和云南公安高等专科学校等历史时期。2022年获批硕士学位授予单位及警务硕士学位授权点，实现了办学层次、办学空间、办学格局的历史性变革。

Yunnan Police College is a full-time ordinary higher education institution sponsored by the People's Government of Yunnan Province. Founded in April 1950, it has gone through historical periods such as the Public Security School of the Public Security Department of the Kunming Military Control Commission of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the Public Security School of the Public Security Department of the People's Government of Yunnan Province, the Yunnan Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School, Yunnan Political College, Yunnan Provincial Public Security School, Yunnan Provincial People's Police School, and Yunnan Public Security College. In 2022, it was approved as a master's degree-granting unit and a master's degree authorization point in policing, achieving a historic transformation in the level, space, and pattern of running the school.

学校主要承担学历教育、在职民警培训、外警培训三大任务，积极构建本科生、研究生、留学生和警察职业教育协调发展的多层次立体化办学格局。现设有圆山、荷山、豹山、龙山四个学区，建有国家反恐办反恐怖综合培训基地（云南基地）、全国县市公安局长培训基地、公安部禁毒警察训练基地等多个国家级、省部级培训基地，先后被授予省级精神文明单位、云南省文明校园、昆明市园林单位等荣誉称号，被公安部荣记集体一等功一次，集体二等功一次，集体三等功两次。

The college mainly undertakes three major tasks: academic education, in-service police training, and foreign police training, and actively builds a multi-level and three-dimensional school-running pattern with the coordinated development of undergraduates, postgraduates, international students, and police vocational education. It currently has four campuses: Yuanshan, Heshan, Baoshan, and Longshan. It has established multiple national and provincial-level training bases such as the National Anti-Terrorism Comprehensive Training Base (Yunnan Base) of the National Anti-Terrorism Office, the National County Public Security Bureau Director Training Base, and the Ministry of Public Security Narcotics Police Training Base. It has been awarded the title of Provincial Civilized Unit, Yunnan Civilized Campus, Kunming Garden Unit, etc., and has been awarded a collective first-class merit, a collective second-class merit, and two collective third-class merits by the Ministry of Public Security.

学校围绕办学目标定位和人才培养需要，抓住深化新时代公安院校教育教学改革的重要机遇，持续引进高层次博士人才和紧缺专业人才，优化教师学历结构、知识结构、职称结构、梯队结构、团队结构。现有教职工508人（其中专任教师280人），博士学位82人。近年来，涌现出1名全国模范教师、2名全国优秀教师、3名全国公安系统优秀教师等一批优秀教师，立项建设1个全国高校思政课名师工作室。

Focusing on the school-running goal orientation and talent training needs, the college has seized the important opportunity to deepen the education and teaching reform of public security colleges in the new era, continuously introduced high-level doctoral talents and urgently needed professional talents, and optimized the academic structure, knowledge structure, professional title structure, echelon structure, and team structure of teachers. There are currently 508 faculty members (including 280 full-time teachers) and 82 with doctoral degrees. In recent years, a group of outstanding teachers have emerged, including 1 National Model Teacher, 2 National Excellent Teachers, and 3 National Excellent Teachers in the Public Security System, and 1 National College Ideological and Political Theory Course Famous Teacher Studio has been established.

学校设有禁毒学、法学、治安学、侦查学、计算机科学与技术、网络安全与执法、刑事科学技术、交通管理工程、经济犯罪侦查、网络空间安全等本科专业，内设9个党政管理机构，禁毒学院、反恐怖学院、刑事侦查学院、治安管理学院、法学院、信息网络安全学院、研究生部等教学部门和6个专业学生管理机构。致力于公安学、公安技术、法学等学科专业建设，形成并推进“教、学、练、战”一体化人才培养模式，建设有3个国家（省部）级特色专业建设项目、3个省（部）级重点实验室，禁毒学、刑事科学技术入选国家级一流专业建设点。

The college offers undergraduate majors such as Narcotics Control, Law, Public Security, Investigation, Computer Science and Technology, Network Security and Law Enforcement, Criminal Science and Technology, Traffic Management Engineering, Economic Crime Investigation, and Cyberspace Security. It has 9 party and government management agencies, teaching departments such as the School of Narcotics Control, School of Anti-Terrorism, School of Criminal Investigation, School of Public Security Management, School of Law, School of Information Network Security, and Graduate Department, as well as 6 professional student management agencies. Committed to the construction of disciplines and majors such as Public Security Science, Public Security Technology, and Law, it has formed and promoted the integrated talent training model of "teaching, learning, practicing, and fighting". It has 3 national (provincial and ministerial) characteristic professional construction projects, 3 provincial (ministerial) key laboratories, and Narcotics Control and Criminal Science and Technology have been selected as national first-class professional construction sites.
