长江师范学院是一所具有优良师范传统、鲜明应用特色的重庆市全日制普通本科高等学校，地处重庆市涪陵区。学校始建于1931年，办学历史悠久，秉持“创新为魂、应用为要、能力为本、服务为重”的办学理念，坚持地方性、应用型、师范性办学定位，是中国教育部师范教育协同提质计划重点支持院校。校园占地面积1700余亩，校舍建筑面积69万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值3.28亿元，纸质藏书192万册；设有二级教学单位21个，开设本科招生专业56个；有专任教师1300余人，全日制本科在校生2.2万余人。

学校坚持开放办学，与11个国家32所国外大学和机构签署校际合作交流协议，选派出国访学、交流师生500余名，招收来自30个国家留学生300余名，建成渝东南首个汉语水平考试考点。与重庆10余个区县建立战略伙伴关系，与30余家大型企业开展产学研合作，承担横向合作项目2000余项，为地方经济社会发展作出积极贡献。
