浙江外国语学院（简称浙外，英文为Zhejiang International Studies University，缩写为ZISU）是一所以区域国别学学科为引领，以外国语言文学学科为基础，多学科支撑发展的公立省属普通高校。学校前身为创建于1955年的浙江教育学院，1994年开始普通本科教育，2010年经国家教育部批准改制并更名。2018年8月通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，2024年9月正式成为硕士学位授予单位，开启更高层次办学发展新阶段。

Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU) is a public provincial general higher education institution led by regional and country studies, with foreign languages and literature as its foundation, and supported by multiple disciplines. Formerly known as Zhejiang Institute of Education founded in 1955, it started regular undergraduate education in 1994 and was restructured and renamed with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2010. In August 2018, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment by the Ministry of Education, and in September 2024, it officially became a master's degree-granting unit, entering a new stage of higher-level educational development.

学校现有13个教学机构，36个本科专业，涵盖16个外语语种（包括英语、日语、西班牙语、法语、阿拉伯语等），形成"多语种、跨学科、国际化"的办学特色。拥有7个国家级一流本科专业建设点、7个省级一流本科专业建设点，6个省一流学科，1个区域国别学一级学科硕士点及教育、翻译2个专业学位硕士点。全日制在校生规模10000余人，面向全国17个省（自治区）招生。

The university currently has 13 teaching institutions and 36 undergraduate programs, covering 16 foreign languages (including English, Japanese, Spanish, French, Arabic, etc.), forming a "multilingual, interdisciplinary, and international" educational characteristic. It boasts 7 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 7 provincial-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites, 6 provincial first-class disciplines, 1 first-level discipline master's program in regional and country studies, and 2 professional master's programs in education and translation. It has a full-time student population of over 10,000, enrolling students from 17 provinces (autonomous regions) across the country.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，以培养"家国情怀、国际视野、外语娴熟、数智能力强，能担当文明互鉴和人文交流大任"的国际化应用型人才为目标。构建"三进四融"大思政育人体系，师生积极服务G20杭州峰会、杭州亚运会等国际重大活动，累计志愿服务超21000人次，成为学校实践育人的亮丽名片。与50多个国家和地区的近150所高校建立校际交流关系，常年开设160余个学生出国（境）项目，着力培养高素质跨文化传播人才。

Adhering to the fundamental task of cultivating virtue through education, the university aims to develop international applied talents with "patriotic feelings, international vision, proficient foreign language skills, strong digital intelligence capabilities, and the ability to undertake the important task of cultural exchange and mutual learning". It has constructed a "Three Entries and Four Integrations" ideological and political education system. Teachers and students actively serve major international events such as the G20 Hangzhou Summit and Hangzhou Asian Games, with a total of over 21,000 volunteer service person-times, becoming a bright card of the university's practical education. It has established inter-university exchange relations with nearly 150 universities in more than 50 countries and regions, and regularly offers over 160 student overseas programs, striving to cultivate high-quality cross-cultural communication talents.

学校师资队伍结构合理、素质优良，现有教职工900余人，专任教师中副高级及以上职称占比超40%，具有博士学位教师占比60%以上，50%以上教师具有6个月及以上国（境）外研修经历，外语学科80%以上教师有海外留学经历。拥有国家级人才16人次，享受国务院特殊津贴7人，省级各类人才50余人次，为人才培养和学科发展提供坚实支撑。

The university has a well-structured and high-quality faculty team, with over 900 faculty members. Among the full-time teachers, more than 40% have associate senior titles or above, over 60% have doctoral degrees, more than 50% have overseas study or research experience of 6 months or more, and over 80% of foreign language discipline teachers have overseas study experience. It has 16 national-level talents, 7 people enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, and more than 50 provincial-level talents, providing solid support for talent cultivation and discipline development.
