张家口学院坐落于2022年冬奥会举办地、素有“塞外山城”美誉的河北省张家口市，是一所经教育部批准设立的全日制普通本科院校。学校秉承“自强、拼搏、求实、创新”的校训，经过40余年建设发展，已形成以教育学、医学、管理学为主干，文学、理学、艺术学等多学科协调发展的办学格局，是河北省中小学骨干教师培训基地、首批北京2022年冬奥会和冬残奥会培训基地。

Zhangjiakou University is located in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, known as the "Mountain City Beyond the Great Wall" and the host city of the 2022 Winter Olympics. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. Adhering to the motto of "Self-improvement, Striving, Practicality, and Innovation", the university has developed into a multidisciplinary institution with education, medicine, and management as its main disciplines, coordinated by literature, science, and art after more than 40 years of development. It serves as a training base for backbone teachers in primary and secondary schools in Hebei Province and one of the first training bases for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

学校前身为1978年创建的张家口地区教师进修学校，2013年升格为本科院校，实行省市共建、以市为主的管理体制。现有明湖、平门两个校区，占地面积1296亩，馆藏纸质图书150.5万册，电子图书350万册，建有文津阁《四库全书》珍本库等特色馆藏。设有17个教学单位，42个本科专业，面向全国22个省（市、自治区）招生，全日制在校生13636人。教职工808人中，副高级以上职称教师322人，具有硕博士学位教师474人，拥有河北省教学名师、创新创业教学名师等省级人才称号者10余人。

Founded in 1978 as Zhangjiakou Regional Teacher Training School, the university was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in 2013 and is jointly administered by the provincial and municipal governments with municipal leadership. It has two campuses (Minghu and Pingmen) covering 1,296 mu, with 1.505 million paper books, 3.5 million e-books, and special collections including the rare book repository of Siku Quanshu from Wenjin Pavilion. The university comprises 17 teaching units offering 42 undergraduate programs, enrolling students from 22 provinces/municipalities/autonomous regions, with a total enrollment of 13,636 full-time students. Among its 808 faculty members, 322 hold associate senior titles or above, 474 have master's or doctoral degrees, and over 10 have provincial-level titles such as Hebei Provincial Teaching Masters and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Teaching Masters.

学校坚持地方性、应用型办学定位，聚焦“后奥运经济”“首都两区建设”等国家战略，打造冰雪特色学科群，建有1个国家级科普基地、4个省级科普基地及17个校级科研平台。近年来承担国家社科基金项目2项、教育部人文社科项目2项，获专利177项，7个专业入选省级一流本科专业建设点，1门课程获评国家级一流课程，形成了“冰雪特色鲜明、应用优势突出”的办学特色，为区域经济社会发展培养了5万余名高素质应用型人才。

Adhering to a local and application-oriented orientation, the university focuses on national strategies such as "post-Olympic economy" and "Capital Two Zones Construction", and has built a discipline cluster featuring ice and snow sports. It houses 1 national-level science popularization base, 4 provincial-level science popularization bases, and 17 university-level research platforms. In recent years, it has undertaken 2 National Social Science Fund projects, 2 Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences projects, obtained 177 patents, with 7 programs selected as provincial first-class undergraduate program construction sites and 1 course awarded as a national first-class course. The university has formed a distinctive办学 feature of "prominent ice and snow characteristics and strong application advantages", cultivating over 50,000 high-quality application-oriented talents for regional economic and social development.
