湛江科技学院坐落在中国大陆最南端的美丽港城湛江市，是一所全日制普通本科院校。学校于1999年由广东海洋大学与湛江寸金教育集团合作创办，2006年经教育部批准为独立学院，2021年经教育部批准转设为独立设置的民办普通本科高校。经过20余年的建设和发展，学校已成为粤西地区规模最大、具有重要区域性影响、办学特色鲜明的民办本科高校，先后获得“广东民办教育突出贡献奖”“中华文化传承基地”“广东省绿色校园”“湛江市园林式单位”等荣誉称号。

Zhanjiang Institute of Science and Technology is located in Zhanjiang, a beautiful port city at the southernmost tip of mainland China. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate college. Founded in 1999 through a cooperation between Guangdong Ocean University and Zhanjiang Cunjin Education Group, the university was approved as an independent college by the Ministry of Education in 2006 and transformed into an independently established private ordinary undergraduate university in 2021. After more than 20 years of construction and development, it has become the largest private undergraduate university in western Guangdong with significant regional influence and distinctive school-running characteristics, having successively won honors such as "Guangdong Private Education Outstanding Contribution Award", "Chinese Culture Inheritance Base", "Guangdong Green Campus", and "Zhanjiang Garden-style Unit".

学校确立了“质量立校、人才兴校、特色强校、服务荣校、文化名校”的办学思路，坚持“应地所需、依地而建、为地所用、因地而兴、受地所托、顺势而为”的基本方略。以工学、经济学、管理学为主体，文学、艺术学为两翼，以教育学、医学为重要补充，下设16个二级学院、6个产业学院和7个科研创新平台，构建了覆盖经、文、工、教、管、艺、农、医等8大学科门类的专业体系，致力于培养应用型本科人才，服务区域经济社会发展。

With engineering, economics, and management as the mainstay, literature and art as the two wings, and education and medicine as important supplements, it has set up 16 secondary colleges, 6 industrial colleges, and 7 scientific research innovation platforms, constructing a professional system covering 8 disciplines including economics, literature, engineering, education, management, art, agriculture, and medicine, dedicated to cultivating applied undergraduate talents and serving regional economic and social development.
