浙江树人学院创办于1984年，是一所由浙江省政协创立、省政府协调建设、省教育厅主管的社会力量办学本科高校。2004年9月，时任浙江省委书记习近平同志来学校考察时，充分肯定了学校的办学道路，并提出殷切希望。建校以来，学校大力弘扬树人精神，坚定社会主义办学方向，坚持公益性办学原则，坚持立德树人根本任务，办学质量稳步提升，社会声誉不断提高。

Zhejiang Shuren University, founded in 1984, is an undergraduate university run by social forces established by the Zhejiang Provincial Political Consultative Conference, coordinated by the provincial government, and administered by the Provincial Department of Education. In September 2004, when Xi Jinping, then Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, inspected the university, he fully affirmed the school's educational path and put forward earnest hopes. Since its establishment, the university has vigorously carried forward the Shuren spirit, firmly adhered to the socialist orientation in running schools, upheld the principle of public welfare in education, and committed to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, resulting in steady improvement in educational quality and increasing social reputation.

学校设有管理学院、城建学院、人文学院、信息科技学院、生物与环境工程学院、现代服务业学院、艺术学院、外国语学院、家扬书院、继续教育学院等10个学院，开设工商管理、国际经济与贸易、计算机科学与技术、城市规划、社会工作等37个本科专业，其中国际经济与贸易学科为国家特色专业，环境工程、工商管理、计算机科学与技术、国际经济与贸易专业被列为浙江省重点专业。学校先后成立了民办高等教育研究所、中国服务经济研究中心、陶瓷研究所、超微量研究中心等26个研究机构。

The university has 10 colleges including the School of Management, School of Urban Construction, School of Humanities, School of Information Technology, School of Biological and Environmental Engineering, School of Modern Service Industry, School of Art, School of Foreign Languages, Jiayang College, and School of Continuing Education. It offers 37 undergraduate majors such as Business Administration, International Economics and Trade, Computer Science and Technology, Urban Planning, and Social Work. Among them, the International Economics and Trade discipline is a national characteristic major, and Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science and Technology, and International Economics and Trade are listed as key majors in Zhejiang Province. The university has successively established 26 research institutions including the Institute of Private Higher Education, the China Center for Service Economy Research, the Ceramic Research Institute, and the Ultra-trace Research Center.
