浙江越秀外国语学院是经国家教育部批准设立的全日制普通本科院校，坐落于中国首批历史文化名城、鲁迅故里——浙江绍兴，始创于1981年，2008年升格为本科高校，2015年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，2017年被列为硕士学位授予权立项建设单位。学校以“和成、育秀”为校训，形成以外语为特色、文学为主体、经济学与管理学为两翼、多学科协调发展的学科专业布局，是目前浙江省外语语种最多的高校之一。

Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of China. Located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province—a famous historical and cultural city and the hometown of Lu Xun, it was founded in 1981, upgraded to an undergraduate institution in 2008, passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education in 2015, and was listed as a master's degree authorization project construction unit in 2017. With the school motto of "Harmony & Success, Cultivation & Excellence", the university has formed a discipline layout featuring foreign languages as its specialty, literature as its main body, economics and management as two wings, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines, making it one of the universities with the most foreign language programs in Zhejiang Province.

学校设有14个二级学院，开设51个本科专业，涵盖英语、法语、德语、俄语、西班牙语等17个外语语种及文学、经济学、管理学等6大学科门类。拥有外国语言文学省级一流学科，翻译、汉语国际教育等4个国家级一流本科专业建设点，10个省级一流本科专业建设点。图书馆馆藏中外文纸质图书近222万册，电子图书139万余册，电子期刊10万余种。面向全国20个省（市、自治区）招生，全日制在校生17000余人，教职工1000多人，高级职称教师占比超47%，聘有外籍教师近100名。

The university has 14 secondary colleges, offering 51 undergraduate majors covering 17 foreign languages such as English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, and 6 disciplines including literature, economics, and management. It boasts a provincial first-class discipline in Foreign Language and Literature, 4 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites including Translation and Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, and 10 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. The library has nearly 2.22 million Chinese and foreign language paper books, over 1.39 million e-books, and more than 100,000 e-journals. Enrolling students from 20 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country, it has over 17,000 full-time students and more than 1,000 faculty members, with senior title teachers accounting for over 47% and nearly 100 foreign teachers.

学校大力推进国际化办学，与30多个国家和地区的180多所高校开展合作，每年派出700余名学生出国（境）交流，部分专业学生出国比例达100%。在浙江省高校国际化水平排名中，曾连续6年位居全省非硕博高校第一。武书连中国民办大学排行榜显示，学校文学学科连续多年位列全国民办高校第1名，经济学、管理学等学科稳居全国前20强，彰显了“外语+、应用型、国际化”的人才培养特色。

The university vigorously promotes international education, cooperating with more than 180 universities in over 30 countries and regions, sending over 700 students abroad for exchanges annually, with 100% of students in some majors studying abroad. In the ranking of internationalization level of universities in Zhejiang Province, it once ranked first among non-doctoral/master's universities in the province for 6 consecutive years. According to the Wu Shulian Chinese Private University Rankings, the university's literature discipline has ranked first among national private universities for many years, and disciplines such as economics and management have steadily ranked among the top 20 in the country, demonstrating the talent cultivation characteristics of "Foreign Language+, Application-oriented, and Internationalization".
