郑州工程技术学院是在原中州大学基础上，于2016年3月经教育部批准建立的公办全日制普通本科高校，由郑州市人民政府举办，是该市第一所公办全日制普通高等学校、唯一一所理工类本科院校。学校始建于1980年，历经郑州大学、河南医学院郑州分校、郑州市走读大学、中州大学等发展阶段，时任中共中央副主席陈云同志为学校题写校名。2025年顺利通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，获批河南省硕士学位授予重点立项培育单位，累计培养14万余名应用型人才，其中70%在省内就业创业。

Zhengzhou University of Technology is a public full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2016 on the basis of the former Zhongzhou University. Sponsored by the Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, it is the first public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning and the only理工类 undergraduate university in the city. Founded in 1980, the university has gone through development stages such as Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou Branch of Henan Medical College, Zhengzhou Day University, and Zhongzhou University. Comrade Chen Yun, then Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, inscribed the school name. In 2025, it successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education and was approved as a key project cultivation unit for master's degree authorization in Henan Province. It has cultivated more than 140,000 applied talents, 70% of whom have obtained employment and started businesses in the province.

学校坚持社会主义办学方向，秉承“修德、敏学、笃行、拓新”校训，落实立德树人根本任务，构建“黄河文化五融入”育人体系，以服务郑州国家中心城市建设为宗旨，培养德智体美劳全面发展的高素质应用型人才。现有全日制在校生17658人，教职工1334人，其中高级职称447人、博士165人、双师双能型488人，拥有海外高层次人才引进计划专家、全国科研优秀教师、省级教学名师等各类人才。设有理学、工学、经济学、管理学、艺术学、文学、教育学7个学科门类，39个本科专业，2个省级重点学科，构建以工科类专业群为主体、“经济管理+文旅文创”专业群为两翼的“一体两翼、实践为要”应用型人才培养体系。

Adhering to the socialist orientation in running schools and the school motto of "Cultivating Virtue, Studying Diligently, Practicing Earnestly, and Innovating Boldly", the university implements the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, constructs an educational system of "Five Integrations of Yellow River Culture", and aims to serve the construction of Zhengzhou as a national central city, cultivating high-quality applied talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. Currently, it has 17,658 full-time students and 1,334 faculty members, including 447 with senior professional titles, 165 doctors, and 488 "double-qualified" teachers. It boasts various talents such as experts from overseas high-level talent introduction programs, national excellent scientific research teachers, and provincial teaching masters. Covering 7 disciplines including science, engineering, economics, management, art, literature, and education, it offers 39 undergraduate majors and 2 provincial key disciplines, and constructs an applied talent cultivation system of "One Body, Two Wings, Practice-Oriented" with engineering professional groups as the main body and "economic management + cultural tourism and cultural creativity" professional groups as the two wings.

学校现有英才、金河、航海、龙子湖四个校区，航空港新校区正在建设中，实验实训室205个，教学仪器设备总值2.05亿元，图书馆馆藏纸质图书165.06万册、电子图书138.46万册。建有河南省人工智能大模型及应用工程研究中心等省市级研究平台33个，与规上工业企业共建研发中心31个，深度融入汽车及装备制造、电子信息等郑州市主导产业，推动校地互动、产教融合、校企合作向纵深发展。

The university currently has four campuses: Yingcai, Jinhe, Hanghai, and Longzihu, with a new campus in the Airport Economic Zone under construction. It has 205 experimental training rooms with a total value of 205 million yuan in teaching instruments and equipment. The library has a collection of 1.6506 million paper books and 1.3846 million e-books. It has established 33 provincial and municipal research platforms such as the Henan Provincial Engineering Research Center for Artificial Intelligence Large Models and Applications, and co-built 31 R&D centers with industrial enterprises above designated size, deeply integrating into Zhengzhou's leading industries such as automobile and equipment manufacturing, and electronic information, promoting in-depth development of university-local interaction, industry-education integration, and university-enterprise cooperation.
