郑州师范学院是经教育部批准，于2010年3月在郑州师范高等专科学校基础上建立的一所全日制普通本科院校，其前身是1949年成立的河南省立郑州师范学校。学校立足教师教育传统，提出了建设教师教育特色鲜明的高水平本科院校发展目标，明确了师范性、地方性、应用型的办学类型，以及植根郑州，面向河南，辐射全国的服务面向和“教师教育做精做强、非师专业做实做优”的办学思路。

Zhengzhou Normal University is a full-time ordinary undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education, established in March 2010 on the basis of Zhengzhou Normal College. Its predecessor was Henan Provincial Zhengzhou Normal School founded in 1949. Based on its tradition of teacher education, the university has set the goal of building a high-level undergraduate institution with distinctive teacher education characteristics, defining its school-running type as normal, local, and application-oriented, with a service orientation rooted in Zhengzhou, facing Henan, and radiating the whole country, as well as the school-running idea of "making teacher education excellent and strong, and non-teacher majors practical and excellent".

学校占地面积1001亩，建筑面积64.86万余平方米，各类实验实训室287间，教学、科研仪器设备总价值3.13亿元；有附属中学、小学、幼儿园7所，校外实习实训基地228个；图书馆拥有纸质图书194.8万余册、电子图书276.6万余种、中外文数据库57个。现有教职工1406人，其中具有高级专业技术职务教师378人；具有硕博学位教师1235人。设置二级学院19个，全日制在校生18000余人，开设59个本科专业，涵盖经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学等九大学科门类。

The university covers an area of 1001 mu, with a building area of more than 648,600 square meters, 287 various experimental training rooms, and the total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 313 million yuan; it has 7 affiliated middle schools, primary schools and kindergartens, and 228 off-campus practice training bases; the library has more than 1.948 million paper books, more than 2.766 million e-books, and 57 Chinese and foreign databases. There are 1,406 faculty members, including 378 teachers with senior professional and technical positions; 1,235 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees. It has 19 secondary colleges, more than 18,000 full-time students, and 59 undergraduate majors, covering nine disciplines including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, and art.
