中原工学院是一所以工为主，以纺织、服装为特色，工、管、文、理、经、法、艺、教等多学科协调发展的河南省特色骨干学科建设高校。学校始建于1955年，原名郑州纺织工学院，隶属于原国家纺织工业部，1998年划转为河南省管理，2000年更名为中原工学院。学校现有龙湖校区、中原校区和西校区三个校区，占地面积1610亩，校舍建筑面积84.7万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值6.4亿元。

Zhongyuan University of Technology is a key discipline construction university in Henan Province with engineering as the main focus, textiles and clothing as its characteristics, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, management, liberal arts, science, economics, law, art, and education. Founded in 1955, the university was originally named Zhengzhou Textile Institute, affiliated to the former Ministry of Textile Industry. In 1998, it was transferred to the management of Henan Province, and in 2000, it was renamed Zhongyuan University of Technology. The university currently has three campuses: Longhu Campus, Zhongyuan Campus, and West Campus, covering an area of 1610 mu, with a building area of 847,000 square meters and a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment of 640 million yuan.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，着力培养德智体美劳全面发展，具有创新精神和实践能力的高素质应用型人才。现有全日制本科生、研究生、留学生共2.3万余人，教职工1900余人，其中高级职称教师600余人，博士学位教师600余人。学校设有21个教学院（部），开设65个本科专业，拥有11个一级学科硕士学位授权点，16个硕士专业学位授权类别，形成了以工为主、多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。

The university adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talents, and strives to cultivate high-quality applied talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical education, aesthetics and labor, and with innovative spirit and practical ability. Currently, there are more than 23,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and international students, and more than 1,900 faculty members, including more than 600 teachers with senior titles and more than 600 teachers with doctoral degrees. The university has 21 teaching colleges (departments), offering 65 undergraduate majors, 11 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 16 master's professional degree authorization categories, forming a discipline and professional system dominated by engineering and coordinated development of multiple disciplines.
