郑州轻工业大学创建于1977年，是河南省重点建设高校、河南省人民政府与国家烟草专卖局共建高校，以工为主，工、理、文、艺、经、管、法、教、农等多学科协调发展，具有鲜明特色的高水平综合性大学。学校坚持立德树人根本任务，致力于培养德智体美劳全面发展、基础扎实、知识面宽、能力强、素质高、富有创新精神和实践能力的高级专门人才。

Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, founded in 1977, is a key university in Henan Province and a joint university between the People's Government of Henan Province and the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration. It is a high-level comprehensive university with engineering as its main focus, coordinated development of multiple disciplines including science, liberal arts, art, economics, management, law, education, and agriculture, and distinctive characteristics. 学校现有东风、科学校区和禹州实习实训基地，总占地面积2200余亩。设有23个学院（部），69个本科专业，拥有15个一级学科硕士学位授权点、19个硕士专业学位授权类别，形成了以轻工、食品、电器、化工、艺术设计等学科为特色，多学科交叉融合、协调发展的学科专业体系。

The university currently has Dongfeng Campus, Science and Technology Campus, and Yuzhou Internship and Training Base, covering a total area of more than 2,200 mu. It has 23 colleges (departments), 69 undergraduate majors, 15 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 19 master's professional degree authorization categories, forming a disciplinary and professional system with light industry, food, electrical appliances, chemical engineering, art design and other disciplines as characteristics, and multi-disciplinary cross-integration and coordinated development.
