重庆工贸职业技术学院是经教育部备案成立、重庆市人民政府举办、重庆市教育委员会主管的全日制公办高等院校，起源于1936年兴办的涪陵县立简易师范农科职业班，2003年由重庆市涪陵农业学校、重庆市第三水利电力学校、重庆市第三财贸学校合并创办涪陵职业技术学院，2006年更名为重庆工贸职业技术学院，2014年成为重庆市级示范性高职院校，2021年成为重庆市优质高职院校并成为重庆市双高计划立项建设单位，2024年成为全国首批接受并通过教育部高等职业学校办学能力评价试测院校。

Chongqing Industry and Trade Polytechnic is a full-time public higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education, sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, and administered by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. Its origin can be traced back to the Agricultural Vocational Class of Fuling County Normal School founded in 1936. In 2003, it was established as Fuling Vocational and Technical College through the merger of Chongqing Fuling Agricultural School, Chongqing No.3 Water Conservancy and Electric Power School, and Chongqing No.3 Finance and Trade School. It was renamed Chongqing Industry and Trade Polytechnic in 2006, became a Chongqing Municipal Demonstrative Higher Vocational College in 2014, a Chongqing High-Quality Higher Vocational College and a project construction unit of Chongqing's "Double High Plan" in 2021, and one of the first national higher vocational schools to accept and pass the trial evaluation of school-running capacity by the Ministry of Education in 2024.

学校地处重庆主城都市区重要战略支点城市、重庆一小时经济圈核心城市、成渝双城经济圈东部中心城市、重庆市域副中心、渝东新城主引擎——涪陵，涪陵是产业强区、制造大区、科创高地、两江福地、巴国故都，现距重庆市中心城区的通勤时间仅半小时，即将建成的重庆东站投入使用后仅需15分钟。学校现有校区占地418亩、校舍面积近20万平方米，正在建设的涪陵高新校区（入驻涪陵国家级经开区、国家级综合保税区，距涪陵高铁站约2公里）占地603亩、校舍面积30余万平方米，一所与高新产业和渝东新城紧密链接的双核生态特色校园正在展现。

The college is located in Fuling, an important strategic support city in Chongqing's main urban area, a core city in the Chongqing one-hour economic circle, the eastern central city of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, a sub-center of Chongqing's urban area, and the main engine of the new eastern Chongqing city. Fuling is a strong industrial district, a major manufacturing district, a highland for scientific and technological innovation, a blessed land of the two rivers, and the ancient capital of the Ba State. It now takes only half an hour to commute to the central urban area of Chongqing, and will take only 15 minutes after the upcoming Chongqing East Railway Station is put into use. The existing campus covers an area of 418 mu with a building area of nearly 200,000 square meters. The under-construction Fuling High-tech Campus (located in Fuling National Economic and Technological Development Zone and National Comprehensive Bonded Zone, about 2 kilometers from Fuling High-speed Railway Station) covers an area of 603 mu with a building area of more than 300,000 square meters. A dual-core ecological characteristic campus closely linked with high-tech industries and the new eastern Chongqing city is taking shape.

学校现有教职工600余人，全日制在校生近1.3万人，固定资产近10亿元，教学科研仪器设备值近1.5亿元，建有由中央财政支持实训基地、重庆市高职示范性虚拟仿真实训基地等构成的9个校内实训基地、151个校内实训室，馆藏图书195万册（折合电子图书），设有智能制造学院、人工智能学院、财经学院、健康学院、建筑工程学院、车辆工程学院、教育学院等7个实体性二级学院和继续教育学院、马克思主义学院（基础教育学院）、国际交流合作中心等3个教学机构。

The college currently has more than 600 faculty members, nearly 13,000 full-time students, fixed assets of nearly 1 billion yuan, and teaching and research equipment worth nearly 150 million yuan. It has 9 on-campus training bases and 151 on-campus training rooms, including training bases supported by the central finance and Chongqing vocational示范性 virtual simulation training bases. The library has 1.95 million books (equivalent to e-books). It has 7实体 secondary colleges including the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Finance and Economics, School of Health, School of Civil Engineering, School of Vehicle Engineering, and School of Education, as well as 3 teaching institutions including the School of Continuing Education, Marxist College (Basic Education College), and International Exchange and Cooperation Center.
