重庆轻工职业学院创建于2011年3月，是经重庆市人民政府批准、教育部备案的全日制普通高等院校。坐落于西部（重庆）科学城核心区域，毗邻大学城，占地1700余亩（含璧山新校区1550亩）。学校是教育部应急安全智慧学习工场项目试点学校、教育部1+X证书试点院校、工信部大数据产业人才基地，职业院校服务全民终身学习项目实验学校，重庆市绿色学校建设示范学校，重庆市职业技能鉴定指导中心重庆市技能人才综合服务定点服务机构，重庆市级职业技能竞赛选拔应急救援集训基地，重庆轻工联盟、重庆市食品工业产教融合协同创新联盟理事长单位，中欧智能制造、全国智能网联汽车测试评价行业产教融合共同体副理事长单位。

Chongqing Light Industry Vocational College was founded in March 2011. It is a full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. Located in the core area of Western (Chongqing) Science City, adjacent to the University Town, it covers an area of more than 1,700 mu (including 1,550 mu for the new Bishan campus). The college is a pilot school for the Emergency Safety Smart Learning Workshop Project of the Ministry of Education, a pilot institution for the Ministry of Education's 1+X Certificate Program, a talent base for the big data industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, an experimental school for vocational colleges serving lifelong learning for all, a demonstration school for green school construction in Chongqing, a designated service institution for Chongqing skilled talents comprehensive service of Chongqing Vocational Skills Appraisal Guidance Center, an emergency rescue training base for Chongqing municipal vocational skills competition selection, the chairman unit of Chongqing Light Industry Alliance and Chongqing Food Industry Industry-Education Integration Collaborative Innovation Alliance, and the vice chairman unit of China-Europe Intelligent Manufacturing and National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing and Evaluation Industry-education Integration Community.

学校坚持以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，贯彻党的教育方针，践行为党育人、为国育才的使命。坚持“强能济世、卓尔不群”的办学理念，秉承“教学求真、知行合一”的校训精神，坚定“立足轻工、技能为本”的办学定位，以就业为导向，项目为驱动，改革为动力，能力为本位，大力培养大国工匠、能工巧匠、巴渝工匠。毕业生遍布全国，深受用人单位好评，毕业生就业率稳居重庆市高校前列。学校教学、实验实训设备先进，建有200多个校内外实践教学基地（中心），136间实验实训室。现设有食品工程学院、药学与护理学院、工商管理学院（乡村振兴学院）、智能制造学院（国防教育与应急安全学院）、大数据与信息产业学院（中软国际产业学院）、人文教育学院、五年制大专学院、马克思主义学院和继续教育与培训学院，招生专业32个，在校生11000余人。

Graduates are all over the country and well received by employers, and the employment rate of graduates remains at the forefront of colleges and universities in Chongqing. The college has advanced teaching, experimental and training equipment, with more than 200 on-campus and off-campus practical teaching bases (centers) and 136 experimental training rooms. It currently has the School of Food Engineering, the School of Pharmacy and Nursing, the School of Business Administration (Rural Revitalization College), the School of Intelligent Manufacturing (National Defense Education and Emergency Safety College), the School of Big Data and Information Industry (Neusoft International Industry College), the School of Humanities and Education, the Five-year Junior College, the School of Marxism, and the School of Continuing Education and Training, with 32 enrollment majors and more than 11,000 students.
