东莞职业技术学院于2009年成立，是东莞市唯一一所公立高等职业院校。建校以来，学校依托地方经济社会发展，以办成具有东莞特色的全国一流职业技术学院为发展目标，凝练了“政校行企协同，学产服用一体”的办学模式，确立了“服务学生成长，支撑东莞制造”的办学理念，在短短的10多年时间里，实现了“三年一大步、九年三大步”，从高职新秀到全省第一梯队、再到国家第一方阵的跨越式发展：2013年成为省示范校建设单位、2016年成为省一流校建设单位、2019年成为国家“双高计划”建设单位、2025年学校入选国家第二期“双高计划”高水平专业群建设单位，创造了广东省高职院校快速发展的“东莞速度”，开创了东莞职教事业发展的新局面。

Dongguan Polytechnic was founded in 2009 and is the only public higher vocational college in Dongguan City. Since its establishment, relying on the local economic and social development, the college has aimed to become a first-class national vocational and technical college with Dongguan characteristics. It has condensed the school-running model of "collaboration among government, schools, industries and enterprises, and integration of learning, production, application and service", and established the school-running philosophy of "serving students' growth and supporting Dongguan manufacturing". In just over 10 years, it has achieved a leapfrog development from a new vocational college to the first echelon in the province and then to the national first echelon, known as the "three steps in three years and three major steps in nine years": it became a provincial demonstration school construction unit in 2013, a provincial first-class school construction unit in 2016, a national "Double High Plan" construction unit in 2019, and was selected as a high-level professional group construction unit of the second phase of the national "Double High Plan" in 2025, creating the "Dongguan speed" for the rapid development of vocational colleges in Guangdong Province and opening up a new situation for the development of vocational education in Dongguan.

学校拥有松山湖、大岭山、道滘3个校区，校本部位于松山湖国家级高新技术产业开发区，校园总面积75万平方米，校舍建筑面积54万平方米。现有全日制在校生13000余人，各类成人学历教育在校生近4000名。学校主动融入大湾区发展战略，围绕东莞“科技创新+先进制造”城市特色，对接东莞现代产业体系构建需求，完成电子信息工程技术、智能制造装备技术、电子商务、现代物流管理、印刷媒体技术等“2+7+2”的专业群布局，开设了电子信息工程技术、机械制造及自动化等54个专业。现有国家级高水平专业群2个、省级高水平专业群7个，省品牌专业8个、国际工程认证专业2个。

The college has three campuses: Songshan Lake, Dalingshan and Daojiao, with the headquarters located in the Songshan Lake National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The total campus area is 750,000 square meters, and the building area is 540,000 square meters. Currently, there are more than 13,000 full-time students and nearly 4,000 part-time adult education students. Actively integrating into the development strategy of the Greater Bay Area, centering on Dongguan's urban characteristics of "technological innovation + advanced manufacturing", and meeting the needs of constructing Dongguan's modern industrial system, the college has completed the "2+7+2" professional group layout including electronic information engineering technology, intelligent manufacturing equipment technology, e-commerce, modern logistics management, printing media technology, etc., and has set up 54 majors such as electronic information engineering technology and mechanical manufacturing and automation. It now has 2 national-level high-level professional groups, 7 provincial-level high-level professional groups, 8 provincial brand majors, and 2 internationally engineering-certified majors.
