广西机电职业技术学院始建于1958年，坐落在中国绿城广西首府南宁市美丽的相思湖畔、邕江之滨，是经教育部批准成立的一所公办全日制普通高等职业院校，隶属广西壮族自治区工业和信息化厅，是全国首批、广西首家国家示范性骨干高职院校，全国高职高专院校人才培养工作水平评估优秀学校，国家示范性高职建设重点培育8所院校之一，国家创新发展行动计划优质校。

Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity was founded in 1958 and is located by the beautiful Xiangsi Lake and Yongjiang River in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, known as the "Green City" of China. It is a public full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education, affiliated to the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is among the first batch of national demonstration backbone higher vocational colleges in China and the first one in Guangxi. It has been awarded "Excellent" in the talent training level evaluation of national higher vocational colleges and is one of the 8 key cultivation institutions for the national demonstration higher vocational construction plan, as well as a high-quality school under the National Innovation and Development Action Plan.

学校占地1049亩，设有相思湖校区和江南校区，校舍总面积83万平方米，资产总额9.8亿元，其中教学科研仪器设备总值达4亿元，图书馆藏书190余万册。学校现有专兼职教师近1300人，双师型教师占比超过50%，开设有智能焊接技术、电子信息工程技术、人工智能技术应用等59个专业，其中国家级、省部级优势特色专业15个，全日制在校生规模超万人，是广西装备制造行业历史最久、专业最全、规模最大的高职院校。

The college covers an area of 1049 mu with two campuses: Xiangsi Lake Campus and Jiangnan Campus. The total building area is 830,000 square meters, with total assets of 980 million yuan, including 400 million yuan worth of teaching and research instruments and equipment. The library has a collection of over 1.9 million books. The college has nearly 1,300 full-time and part-time teachers, with more than 50% being "double-qualified" teachers. It offers 59 majors such as Intelligent Welding Technology, Electronic Information Engineering Technology, and Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, including 15 national and provincial-level advantageous and characteristic majors. With a full-time student population exceeding 10,000, it is the longest-established, most comprehensive in majors, and largest-scale higher vocational college in Guangxi's equipment manufacturing industry.
