绵阳职业技术学院是绵阳市人民政府举办的综合类高等职业院校，是四川省首批建立的八所高等职业学校之一，国家示范高职院校。学校起源于1933年创办的江苏省立宿迁玻璃科职业学校，2001年经四川省人民政府批准，由原四川建筑材料工业学校等三校合并升格为职业技术学院，2015年绵阳水利电力学校部分专业并入。学校秉持“重德、精业、求实、创新”的校训，形成了“传承建材行业优势，服务绵阳国家科技城建设，政校企研四方联动共育高端技术技能型人才”的办学特色。

Mianyang Polytechnic is a comprehensive higher vocational college run by the Mianyang Municipal People's Government. It is one of the first eight higher vocational schools established in Sichuan Province and a national demonstration higher vocational college. The school originated from the Jiangsu Provincial Suqian Glass Vocational School founded in 1933. In 2001, approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to a vocational and technical college by merging three schools including the former Sichuan Building Materials Industry School. In 2015, some majors of Mianyang Water Conservancy and Electric Power School were merged into the school. Adhering to the school motto of "Virtue, Proficiency, Realism and Innovation", the school has formed the school-running characteristic of "inheriting the advantages of the building materials industry, serving the construction of Mianyang National Science and Technology City, and jointly cultivating high-end technical and skilled talents through the four-party linkage of government, school, enterprise and research".

截至2024年6月，学校占地面积860.08亩，校舍面积34.1万平方米，设有材料与建造学院、电子与信息学院等8个二级教学单位，开设2个本科专业、37个专科专业，涵盖智能制造、电子商务等13个大类。现有在职教职工802人，高职、中职、应用本科及“一带一路”沿线留学生等在校学生1.2万余人。学校拥有国家示范建设专业5个、国家级实训基地1个，建有长虹电子产业学院等6个产业学院，与中国工程物理研究院、长虹等院所企业深度合作，毕业生就业率连续多年保持在98%左右，为社会培养了大批高素质技术技能人才。

As of June 2024, the school covers an area of 860.08 mu with a school building area of 341,000 square meters. It has 8 secondary teaching units including the School of Materials and Construction, the School of Electronics and Information, offering 2 undergraduate majors and 37 junior college majors, covering 13 categories such as intelligent manufacturing and e-commerce. There are 802 in-service faculty members and more than 12,000 students, including higher vocational, secondary vocational, applied undergraduate students and international students along the "Belt and Road". The school has 5 national demonstration construction majors, 1 national training base, 6 industrial colleges including Changhong Electronic Industry College, and in-depth cooperation with institutions and enterprises such as China Academy of Engineering Physics and Changhong. The employment rate of graduates has remained around 98% for many years, cultivating a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for the society.
