四川机电职业技术学院始于1973年创办的冶金工业部攀钢冶金工业学校，2001年经四川省人民政府批准、教育部备案，升格为公办普通高等职业技术学院，是四川省首批8所高职院校之一，2016年跻身国家示范性骨干高职院校行列。学校由攀钢集团有限公司出资举办，位于四川省攀枝花市，现有马家田、金江两大校区，占地近1000亩，是川西南滇西北办学规模最大的公办高职院校。

Sichuan Electromechanical Institute of Vocation and Technology originated from Panzhihua Iron and Steel Metallurgical Industry School founded in 1973 under the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. Approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education in 2001, it was upgraded to a public higher vocational college and became one of the first 8 higher vocational colleges in Sichuan Province. In 2016, it was listed among the national model backbone higher vocational colleges. Sponsored by Panzhihua Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd., the college is located in Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province, with two campuses (Majiatian and Jinjiang) covering nearly 1,000 mu, making it the largest public higher vocational college in southwestern Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan.

学校设有智能制造学院、自动化学院等6个二级学院，开设37个常年招生专业，覆盖12个专业大类，其中机电一体化技术、机械制造及自动化等6个专业为国家级重点专业，4个专业为省级重点专业。现有在校学生11000余人，拥有100余个校内实训中心和200余个校外实训基地，其中国家财政投资的攀枝花技能培训公共实训基地落户该校。

The college has 6 secondary colleges including the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and the School of Automation, offering 37 regular enrollment majors covering 12 professional categories. Among them, 6 majors such as Mechatronics Technology and Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation are national key majors, and 4 majors are provincial key majors. Currently, it has over 11,000 students and boasts more than 100 on-campus training centers and over 200 off-campus training bases, among which the Panzhihua Vocational Skills Training Public Training Base invested by the state finance is located on the campus.

学校坚持“产教融合、工学结合”的育人模式，重点培养服务国家重点产业和区域支柱产业的技术技能人才，与攀钢集团、中国宝武、宁德时代等200余家大型企业建立稳定就业合作关系，近五年毕业生就业率持续保持95%以上。此外，学校年均开展职工技能培训超40000人次，是全国冶金行业高技能人才重要培养基地。

Adhering to the educational model of "integration of industry and education, combination of work and study", the college focuses on cultivating technical and skilled talents serving national key industries and regional pillar industries. It has established stable employment cooperation with over 200 large enterprises including Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group, China Baowu, and CATL, with the employment rate of graduates remaining above 95% for nearly five years. In addition, the college annually conducts vocational skills training for over 40,000 employees, serving as an important training base for high-skilled talents in the national metallurgical industry.
